now a days it has also a easy and zero cost solution by mean of Tethering. "Tethering" is the use of your cell phone -- or other Internet-enabled mobile device -- as a modem for another device, usually a notebook or PDA. The connection is made either with a cable (USB or serial) or wirelessly through Wi-Fi.
So to do tethering we need a small software called Joikuspot light. Joikuspot turns your mobile phone to a mobile wifi hotspot , allowing any wifi enabled device to connect to internet using your phone as a 3G modem over wifi. This software convert and broadcast your mobile 3G in to wifi.

1. This app create an ad-hoc network and does not create a hotspot in infrastructure mode (ie. there is no access point (AP) created).
- Most of the Android phones create infra mode network so this is different.
- It will not work where client device can connect only to AP example it does not work with Amazon Kindle and other such devices.
- This will work only where client device supports ad-hoc networks.
2. Only WEP encryption protocol is supported.
- WEP is completely broken and any key can be cracked within minutes. See http://en.wikipedia.org/
- To be really secure you need WPA2 encryption which this app does not support.
3. No setting to filter clients.
- Given WEP is equivalent to no security a way to restrict client access based on number of clients or mac-address is much desirable.
